Are they the fastest land animal?
Can they run faster than a super car?
My Note-Taking:
Cheetah isn't the fastest animal in the world. Cheetah is the fastest land animal. They usually runs a consistent speed of 75mph, but a cheetah has been recorded as running as fast as 125 mph. Their anatomy is special. They are like spring, and make it possible for cheetahs to run really fast. This gives longer strides due to a more free running motion as the spend bends. They can run really fast only for 10 sec.
Someone reportedly timed a cheetah running at 70 mph (114 km/hr) over a distance of 700 yards (640 meters) But many people accept a likelier top speed of about 60 mph (97 km/hr).These are infos about cheetah's anatomy. 1. They have extra flexible spines to increase their stirde.
2. They have large nostrils and large lungs for better breathing
3. They have a large heart to pump more blood
4. They have long legs, long spine, and a sleek lightweight body.
5. They have a long tail to make better turns when running so fast. The top speed ever recorded for a cheetah was one which ran at 75 mph, it is unsure whether this is an average cheetah speed, most cheetahs which have been recorded running were in the range of 60 - 70 mph. They can reach their top speed in 3 seconds (faster than most supercars), and can maintain this speed for at least 60 seconds, although they generally keep running at high speeds for about 90 seconds especially when trying to catch prey. The cheetah cannot roar like other big cats. However, it can purr while inhaling. Though the cheetah cannot growl it can yip, chur, growl, yowl and purr. The cheetah hunts either alone or in groups. It hunts either early in the morning or late in the evening. Cheetahs depend more on their vision rather than scent while hunting. The cheetah chases its prey for about ten to thirty meters. The chase is done with in under a minute. One interesting fact about the cheetah is that it will leave its prey if it doesn't make a quick catch.

Technically cheetahs are slower because they can't go fast for very long, but they are also faster because for a small period of time they can go faster than a car. They can reach their top speed in 3 seconds, and can maintain this speed for at least 60 seconds, although they generally keep running at high speeds for about 90 seconds especially when trying to catch prey.
